Mike serves as the Lead Pastor at The Chapel in Green where he has the joy of preaching and leading a great staff who love God’s people and are passionate about building His kingdom. He joined the staff in 2000 after working for 12 years at the NASA Glenn Research Center as a Senior Research Engineer. Family time, reading and relaxing (when possible!) are all favorites of his. He and his wife, Terri, have two children and reside in Green.
April is the administrative assistant for Pastor Castelli and was the camp manager at Camp Carl for over 9 years. She has attended the Green campus since it opened and has been a member of The Chapel since 1984. She enjoys healthy eating, gardening, reading and riding her bike on the Towpath with her husband.
Joe is the Campus Administrator for The Chapel in Green. He has been on staff since 2010, initially serving in the Sports and Men’s ministries and then filling the role of Campus Manager. Prior to joining the staff, Joe was the Marketing Director for two local companies. He loves to play and coach soccer, watch the Ohio State Buckeyes, and spend time with his wife, Amy, and 3 children, Quinn, Collin & Emily.
Jamie is the Servant Coordinator at The Chapel in Green. She came to Christ and was baptized at the Chapel at the age of 21 and met her husband J.P. there shortly after. They have been married almost 20 years and have 3 children: Chloe, Claire and Jack. God has prepared her over the past 20 years through different areas of service at the Chapel, including, special needs, Chayil, and most recently middle school ministry. She loves driving her kids to their activities and forcing them to listen to her music, family dinners, and early morning running/bible study/coffee time with her friends.
Bobbie is the Hospitality Coordinator at the Chapel in Green. Hospitality is the perfect spot for Bobbie as she has many talents in the kitchen. She enjoys cooking and baking and using these gifts to serve others. Prior to her position as Hospitality Coordinator, Bobbie served the Akron Public schools as a Child Nutrition Manager, coordinating meals for up to 800 children a day. She has attended The Chapel for over 30 years and has participated in many ministries along the way. She and her husband Don have two daughters who both attend The Chapel and serve along side her in hospitality. (Romans 12:13 ‘Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality’)
Prior to being led into the ministry, Dale spent over twenty years working with young adults as a high school teacher (psychology and sociology) and coach (football and wrestling.) After teaching & coaching, Dale served as the Area Director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in N.E. Ohio. During this time, he developed a close relationship with many professional, college, and high school coaches and athletes in impacting others for Jesus Christ. Dale and his wife, Heather stay busy raising their kids – while avidly following The Ohio State Buckeyes. He loves working out, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Loving Christ and His Word, Carmen is thankful for the opportunity to share His love with women at The Chapel. After serving women in China for three years, she’s currently wrapping up a masters in Theological Studies from TEDS. Carmen enjoys sharing life adventures with her super hero and best friend, Dave. Together they’ve enjoyed raising four children. Her favorite times are family times. She’s passionate about the theme of God’s rest in Scripture and desires to better learn and teach Christ’s peace and joy. “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Rhonda was born into a family of 10 children. Her Dad, a tool and die man, gave his life to Christ late in life. He quit his job and went to a Christian college to become a Pastor. As money was tight and food scarce, she was taught faith in Christ for their daily needs. After High School, she attended that same Christian College. Rhonda’s family tree has much heart ache and loss as the Armenian people had to flee their country.
Her family tree shows that her maiden name is royalty in Armenia. She really likes the verse in I Peter 1:24-25, which talks about how brief our life on earth is compared to eternity.
Steve is Care Pastor at the Green campus. He and his wife, Mary have had staff connections at The Chapel for over 30 years with 17 of those years as Chapel-sent church planting missionaries to the Philippines. They have 4 adult children and 7 grandchildren.

Billie is the Administrative Assistant for Steve Bucy and Mike Miller in the Care Ministry. She and her husband, Richard, have been married for 23 years. They have 2 daughters, Amy and Merry, and 5 grandchildren. Billie and Richard love to travel overseas, especially to Wales (Richard’s homeland) and Paris, France. She loves to read. One of her spiritual mothers is Elisabeth Elliot, who is also one of her favorite authors, along with Amy Carmichael and Charles Spurgeon. Psalm 16:5-6
Happy is a Florida boy who grew up in Georgia. He began pastoring in Ohio after attending Liberty University. He has been in full time ministry since 1998.
He and beautiful wife have 3 adorable little girls.
He fished for an entire summer in Alaska and hiked half the Appalachian trial.
He has a black belt, spent time working as a bull fighter in the rodeo circuit, and recently road his bicycle 700 miles in 7 days for charity. Therefore, John 10:10 is applicable to his life…

Wendy is the Director of Chapel Kids, leading ministry for kids from birth through 5th grade. Wendy loves family life and God’s word, so this work is a joy. Before joining the staff, Wendy worked for over 16 years in public relations and alongside her entrepreneurial husband in their caregiving business. She loves laughing and living spontaneously with Steve and their college and high-school-aged sons, Jake, Luke, and Adam. Wendy likes making their home pretty, hospitable, and full of good food and coffee. She’s never met a sunset or ice cream she didn’t like.

Kay Lynn Shetler is the the administrative assistant for Chapel Kids at the Green Campus. Her background in social work is a great fit for working with volunteers and families. She has been married for over 20 years to her husband Brian and has three sons…Nate, Drew, and Luke. Kay Lynn spends her free time gardening, reading, and attending her sons’ sporting and scouting events. Psalms 84:11
Melissa serves as the Administrative Assistant for Family Ministry. She is married to Mark, her high school sweetheart, and together they are raising two spunky little blonde boys in Portage Lakes. Melissa finds joy in cooking delicious food, hosting events for friends & family, and organizing everything she can get her hands on, and she is passionate about serving families, especially young moms. Ryan is a born and raised Canton kid who grew up right next to the Pro Football HOF. He met his wife Emily in college at Waynesburg University. Their daughter Finley and son Colden are two of the coolest kids in the world. Ryan loves spending time with his family, watching whatever sport is in season and good barbecue. He and Emily enjoy hanging out and having guests pop in to watch a movie, play a game or just hang out.
Adam has been the Director of Middle School at Green since early 2014. He studied Youth Ministry at Bethel College, which was also where he met his wife Brittany on the Cross Country team. They both still share a love for running and being outdoors whenever possible. Adam is a not-so-secret Harry Potter nerd and has read all 7 of the books out loud (with character voices to Brittany. Twice.
Ashley has been serving as the Kids Ministry Intern since February 2016. Before coming on staff at The Chapel, she spent six months in Mexico serving on the mission field with our partners Mission House International. Ashley is now pursuing a degree in Nursing at the University of Akron. She is also Vice President of a student-led organization at UA called Hammock City. The Young Adult Ministry here at The Chapel in Green is a big part of her life & has impacted her immensely. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, running, and going on adventures or grabbing a cup of coffee with friends.
Kali serves as Local Outreach Director at The Chapel in Green. His passions include the meshing of local and global missions, cultural and ethnic reconciliation within Christ’s church and evangelism/discipleship within the context of outreach ministry. Before coming on staff, he was blessed with the opportunity to serve as a representative of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and team chaplain of the University of Akron Football team. He’s been married to his wife Yiniva (pronounced Geneva) since 2007 and they have three sons Isaiah, Elijah and Israel. He spends his free time with his family, reading, andwatching sports or history documentaries. Proverbs 3:5&6
Amy is the Special Needs Ministry Coordinator for the Chapel in Green. She grew up at The Chapel and has been married to her husband Mark for more than 20 years. They have two children, Abby and Ryan. Ryan was born in 2001 with Down Syndrome. As her family began the journey with a special needs child, the Lord placed on her heart that Ryan came into the world to make a difference and that God had a plan for his life—even with an extra chromosome. (Jeremiah 29:11.) Amy was inspired to come along side other families to support, love and share with them that their children are made perfectly in God’s image and tell them how much Jesus loves each of us. Amy is the author of It’s More Ups Than Downs and when she is not working, she enjoys being with her family, sunshine, flip flops and reading a great fictional history book.
Daniel is the Worship Leader for The Chapel in Green. Prior to joining staff full time in 2015, he spent many years at The Chapel serving in the worship ministry at both the Akron and Green sites. He previously worked in sales and marketing, including several years in the Christian music industry. He’s married to Michelle who happens to be the best wife on the planet and has two very special daughters, Emma and Ava. When not absorbed in music and coffee, he loves doing just about anything with his family, especially spending time in big cities and at the beach.
Emily is the Choir and Orchestra Leader at The Chapel in Green. She loves to see the world and feels honored that she gets to scratch that itch through serving with Hearts Sounds International, a ministry of Operation Mobilization (OM). She enjoys tea, especially if it comes with scones, jam and clotted cream, loves being at home with her kitty, and is excited by old stuff like wood-paneled libraries, European cathedrals and nature. Her passion is to see people understand what true worship is and offer their heart, soul, mind and strength to God; whether this is with her Chapel family on Sunday morning or a village church in India. Laura is the Administrative Assistant for the Worship Department. She has been a nurse for 15 years, but her true passion is singing, music and worship. She grew up at The Chapel and has been serving through worship since second grade. Her desire is to look back on her life’s story and see a journey that doesn’t make sense without God. When she’s not at the church, you can find her with her family, at the gym running, or doing any type of spontaneous adventure. 1 Peter 5:6-11
Rick oversees the Worship and Production Arts departments at The Chapel in Green. He has a Business Administration Degree and Sound Engineering Certification. Rick and his wife, Pam have 2 wonderful girls, Kierra and Camryn. He loves spending time with his family “out at the homestead”. “The 80’s called and want their music back…” That’s funny… I don’t remember ever hanging up!
Ashley serves as the Video Producer for The Chapel in Green. She holds a degree in Communications and discovered her calling in videography and photography after working on several feature films. Along with her husband, Matt, things that bring her joy include: birds, chocolate, travel, stories, acting, laughing, music, nature, and spending time with family. Over the years, God has tugged her heart to mission work in Belize, Ichmul, Cambodia and beyond. Holding close to Psalm 102:18, Ashley’s passion is to capture stories that share the love and hope of Jesus so others may come to know Him. (Life Verse: Psalm 16:11)
Ger serves as the Production Assistant for the Worship and Production Ministry. He obtained his degree in Media Production Communication from The University of Akron. Ger’s passions consist of filmmaking, photography, acting, and bringing laughter to everyone. He also loves to go on his “Gerventures,” dress up randomly as a T-Rex, and help out students in the High School Ministry and Young Adults Ministry. With a passion in the ministry field, Ger is pursuing Missionary work to help people and share the Gospel all around the world. Psalm 23:4
Adam oversees the I.T. department at The Chapel in Green. He enjoys challenging problems and loves to fix things. Prior to joining the staff he worked as a Fire Alarm Technician and got to go to a variety of places. In his free time he enjoys working around his house and seeing how automated he can make it. On nice summer days you may see him driving around in his ’68 cougar.
Adam is the design lead here at The Chapel in Green who produces and directs all communications from print to web. He’s received a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Akron and has worked with small start-ups in LA to interning with the Fed in DC. Adam grew up on a farm and still enjoys working with his family part-time to help pursue the prosperity of the farm. In his leisure time he is usually exhausting his brain with freelance work or riding his motorcycle (weather permitting).
Charlie is the facilities manager for The Chapel in Green. Prior to working for the Chapel, Charlie had 15 years experience in the plastic industry and another 10 years as an owner/operator of an excavating business with his brother. Charlie enjoys boating, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Lisa has been Facility Coordinator for over 10 years at Green and with the Chapel for 12 years. Hobbies include gardening, camping and target practice. She enjoys spending time with her family and dogs. She loves a variety of music but is partial to Mandisa, Francesca Battistelli, Billy Joel and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Mike works in facility maintenance at The Chapel in Green. Before working for The Chapel, Mike worked in the printing and packaging industry managing various operations, providing technical support, applications and equipment installations setup and training. Mike is married, has two daughters, lives in North Canton, and enjoys anything done outdoors.
