Advent starts on November 27th. The word means coming. It is a time of anticipation leading up to the day we celebrate the coming of our Savior… the day of Jesus’s birth. For four weeks we focus, remember, anticipate, and celebrate the arrival of our Messiah. During this season, we welcome Christmas by learning why and how Jesus came to earth as Immanuel, God with us, through stories from Creation to Christ. Learn more about the season of Advent here.

As we look toward Christmas, we wanted to provide you with some resources for celebrating Advent as a family. Our prayer is that you can find moments together as a family to reflect upon the true meaning of this special season!

"Do You See What I See?" Family Advent Guide
This is a journey of discovery for families to see how every story, from Creation to the manger in Bethlehem, was a witness of our need for a Savior and Jesus’s fulfillment of our great need.

Bloomtown Faith Advent Family Devotion Podcast
Invite your family on an (ADVENT)ure through the Bible this Christmas season. Each episode of this podcast will share a big Bible moment as we learn God’s story and discover why it’s our story, too.

Unwrapping the Names of Jesus Family Devotional Study
A nice fit for the whole family. This is authored and produced through the ministry of Asheritah Ciuciu, a member of The Chapel in Green.

Family Advent Adventures
These "Advent adventures" are simply devotional readings and discussions you can tack on to a few of your family’s usual holiday traditions. Without adding any "extras" to an already busy season, they’ll help you centre your children’s attention back on the true meaning of Christmas, and the wonder of God’s gift of Jesus.

Lifeway Family Advent Guide
The 2021 Family Advent Guide is a great way to discuss, read, pray, and do family activities that are centered around Jesus’s birth this Christmas season.

Simply Bible Advent Study
This bible study includes free daily teaching videos to help you in your inductive study of the Christmas story!

Whether you wait until after Thanksgiving to begin listening to Christmas music or you've already started (like us!), be sure to check out our Worship Team's Spotify playlist!
