Why We Serve
Servant Ministry at The Chapel in Green exists to encourage Christ followers to be involved through serving opportunities that will both maximize their time and God-given talents and tangibly communicate the love of Christ, inside and outside the walls of the church.
Our goal is to identify the areas of spiritual giftedness, passion, and life experience of individuals and small groups who desire to serve and then connect them to the ministry area where those gifts will be most effective in impacting others for Christ.
We believe that serving is love in action and discipleship at it’s very finest. Our lives become a shining witness to all whom we encounter as we give of ourselves for their highest good. Our focus goes beyond meeting just temporary physical needs, but extends to the eternal spiritual needs of people we get to serve. We intentionally minister to hearts, in order that, more might come to know Christ, His Church is built up, and ultimately, God receives all the glory through our lives.
In pursuing the servant life, our devotion and surrender will proclaim to the world what Christ has done for us. We don’t wait until we have it all together, but we grow as we step out in faith to obey Him through serving. We depend on Him for the strength and resolve needed to follow His example. We model what He has done for us as we willingly lay down our lives for others. We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)
Finally, we purpose to be the Salt and Light that Christ calls us to be in a world that desperately needs Him. We pursue Him daily as we pour out into the specific areas of service that we engage in. We seek His Holy Spirit in every endeavor we undertake. We take hold of the time He grants us and take seriously the high calling to go out into the places He calls us to. We joyfully serve The Master in order that the decay slows and His light shows as we wait for His return.
