For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.Ephesians 2:10
When you think about serving others, do you filter it through the lens of Scripture, knowing without a shadow of a doubt that God created you for this opportunity? I love Ephesians 2:10, because we are both Christ’s workmanship, a work of art so to speak, and also are created for good works. This means our Lord not only created us to be looked at, but also to get out and walk in the good works he prepared beforehand for us.
This spring, we have a number of different opportunities to live this verse out through our Local Outreach ministries. Our annual Easter Basket Outreach will be April 12-13. This outreach gives us a chance to bless children in our area with Easter baskets that point not to the Easter Bunny but to our Lord, Jesus the Christ, and his death, burial, and resurrection. Please be praying for the children and the adults who come here to create the baskets. Pray for opportunities for the Gospel to be shared and relationships to be formed.
Also happening this spring are opportunities to learn about and give to RAHAB ministries. We will be having two workshops run by the folks at RAHAB here at the church, one for adults and one for teens, to help educate our congregation on human trafficking and how we can help stop it in our area. We will also be having a donation drive for gently used Bibles & devotionals, as well as new journals, for the women served by RAHAB. We are excited to strengthen our partnership with RAHAB as they serve some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
If you have any questions on how you can serve in these areas, or any other area of Local Outreach, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I am grateful for you and your commitment to serve our great God!
