Special Needs Ministry
Our special needs ministry exists to come alongside families with children, students, and/or adults with exceptional abilities to help them feel welcomed, accepted, valued, and loved. Our desire is for the entire family to participate in church fellowship, and community while growing in their knowledge and faith in Jesus.
Sundays
Sunday mornings are the center of our Special Needs Ministry. We offer classroom opportunities to children from birth through adulthood with Biblical teaching that connects them in God's Big Story in memorable and exciting ways. Feel free to contact us during the week if you would like a tour or if you have questions about which environment would be best for your child!
Birth-5th Grade (10:40am) - An inclusive grade level classroom experience with a buddy if needed, or an exclusive sensory classroom with a variety of tools and modifications.
Ages 14+ (10:40am) - Assisted Learning class (connect with us in-person or via Zoom)
Family Room (located across from the Nursery) - A place where families can be a part of the worship service where movement, fidgeting, and playing are welcomed.
The first step in joining our Sunday morning classes is an intake form below. This will help us get to know you and your loved one and how best to help them have a great Sunday while learning about Jesus and His love for them.
Buddies
Individuals who require one-on-one assistance are provided a buddy. Buddies help to keep focus on the lesson, participate as much as possible, or take a break when needed.
Clubs
YoungLife Capernaum Club (ages 14-22)
This group meets the third Saturday of the month during the school year from 4:00-5:30pm.
Anchored Club (ages 23+)
This group meets the third Saturday of the month during the school year from 4:00-5:30pm.
Events
Jesus Prom
The Jesus Prom is a free event for teens and adults (16+) with developmental disabilities their staff members, caregivers, or parents. This is always a night of God honoring joy, fun and laugher.
