Do you have great hopes and plans for your life this next year? I know I do. With the holidays here, the new year is right around the corner. I tend to start off each year with great aspirations, full of excitement over the things I can accomplish. It doesn’t take long for my enthusiasm to wane and my aspirations to get greatly side-tracked. Life is hard that way, isn’t it?
May I encourage you to find some things this year that are worth fighting for? Take a hard look at some of the areas in your life that really need some attention. Put a purpose behind those things, find some motivation, and give yourself some solid goals to make good changes. Here’s an area I would like to challenge you with:
What is the tone of your home?
Is it angry and tense? Does it radiate love and acceptance? Is it cold and compassionless? Now here’s a harder question: for those of you that have kids, what would they say the tone of your home looks like?
Let’s kick it up another notch. What is the spiritual tone in your home? Do you regularly make time for God to interrupt your life, or is that something that is just reserved for Sunday morning?
Here’s why all of these questions are important: you, yes you, have the ability to set the tone in your home and life. I’m not saying it is easy or will be easy, but you have the ability to change what is said about the environment and spiritual well being in your home. It may take some work, but you can change what might have been once a tough environment and make it one that honors Christ all of the time. We want to help. Come along side us this year and let’s figure out this challenge together. I promise you won’t regret putting the effort in.
